Replying To SurelyToGod:  "Roarty has been excellent and I think he's a supreme talent for his age, but he's playing left wing half back. Peadar Mogan has been playing deeper than Roarty all year.

McCole is the only player he's using who can defend high balls, tackle without fouling, and carry out of defence. To deal with varied attacking threat like Galway, Tyrone, and Kerry we need to play a McMeniman or Curran alongside McCole as genuine defensive support or else we will continue to leak goals. Instead Curran played for Dungloe this weekend, who've conceded 2 goals in last 7 matches."
Dungloe are playing division 2. All players who didn't play or not in the sqaud played for their clubs.

So many posts on here criticising the manager for some of the players he picked , just because we lost a game against a top team with a top manager. Jim sees them in training every night and knows who is going well and knows who is carrying knocks etc. But the biggest nonsense on here is posters trying to imply that counties like Cavan and Monaghan didn't try in the Ulster championship, saving themselves for the 'big boy stuff'.

They also made the county final last year. What's your point?

There's a big gap in division 1/2 league. That's what I'm saying.

100%
As for Cavan, we shall see if they back up their win against Mayo next weekend.
Monaghan beat Louth? Handy group and should easily make quarter finals. In the quarter finals we shall see can they back up their boasting........

Replying To SouthOfTheGap:  "Fair play Border Gael, an honest and balanced assessment, especially considering some of the tripe that has appeared here from outside contributors.

My honest opinion is that we would've gotten over the line with Shaun Patton. But those are the fine margins in football matches these days."
Maybe we would have got over the line with Shaun Patton's kick-outs, but it might have papered over what was generally a very mixed performance. Now in saying that, we still managed to take a 2 point lead with 7 minutes left and put up a 0-20 score to 2-12 at 63 minutes, but we then conceded 5 unanswered points late on and Tyrone right ran the clock down.

Malachy O'Rourke is a great manager, he had Tyrone setup carefully after studying Donegal in great detail, so maybe that was a factor in impacting our attacks and exploiting our defence. Tyrone deserved the win from how they closed out the game.

Its not over by a long shot, it just puts us under pressure to go get results on the road now, but maybe pressure is what is needed.

Seems Dungloe's county final appearance last year has been forgotten. Mark was excellent in that club final and the overall championship

Didn't see anybody from Cavan saying this.

Spot on. Jimmy might have created boreball football but without him Donegal would be still listening to wee Daniel.

Is there? Senior Champ runners up are Div 2, Gaeltacht Champions are Div 2. All Ireland Junior Champs Div 2.

Dungloe have the best defensive record in the county this year so far, and alongside Mark Curran there's Aaron Ward and Karl Magee in the county squad. Instead of showing any faith in lads from Dungloe, Termon, Four Masters, Aodh Ruadh, who are doing the business consistently championship and league, we're bringing in players straight from the injury room or that have not shown any sort of form, club or county, in years.

I suppose next year we'll say Division 2 is much stronger than Division 1 when Gaoth Dobhair and Kilcar swap with Dungloe and Aodh Ruadh.

Me neither. There were some Donegal posters suggesting it for their own county before the final though. Funny what some people choose to believe.

We're still listening to Daniel. He's a legend, and a multi millionaire living in luxury. How many of the idiots like you who mock him can say the same.

Boreball would be a good term for your juvenile dialogue. Get back to studying for the Junior Cert.

They fluked a final last year. Curran is never getting near the starting 15 this season.

It's amazing some of the comments that are approved considering how some topics are curated. This fella is just trolling and seemingly allowed to post whatever he wants.

What is this?

A Wicklow fan trying to mock Donegal football is like a paper boat mocking a battleship.

Away and float off pal.

They fluked nothing. They got to the final on merit.

Aye. Let's see how they do this year. Until then, club football can take a backseat. Should only be worried about county for the next month or so.
