Supporting Leitrim would drive you to drink. Promotion is gone. Ruislip in April will be interesting.

Indeed but there again not much point getting relegated every second year like yourselves

It shouldn't be unless one is looking for excuses about why we lost.

Embarrassing. London have improved hugely past few seasons but we shud have been well fit to beat them. We will be turned over in championship

Hardly gone? There will be many more twist in this division but it is a disaster for Leitrim. 1 step forward 2 back

Suppose it's a good excuse for Boris to have a party tonight, if London get promoted he'll go to town all together!!

If you look over the posts from the last few weeks on this site you will see that you had lost the run of yourselves. Saying that if you beat Sligo in the final fixture you will be promoted was ignoring the games in between. Now that your backs are to the wall I expect you will win all your remaining games and still be in the melting pot when you hit Markievicz Park in a few weeks. As for our chances, London winning today will certainly keep us grounded. We have a difficult game next week. We need to get something out of it.

Has to be said they have every chance now. Hard to beat points on the board at this time of year.

London are no pushovers. They usually have a slow start due to no preseason so you'd expect them to get better.

Well lately instead of putting on comedy cds I just log on to the Leitrim forum for a few laughs. Honestly they were only stopping just short of saying that they would be contenders for Sam once Andy figured out the way to the jacks in Pairc Mhic Diarmadha.

Why on earth did we agree to play this game today? The game was moved to a pitch in mayo because carrick was unplayable, no other suitable Leitrim pitch seemingly was available- ok so job done, postpone the game so don't agree to play in mayo. It's was to be only one of 3 home games for us, so we agreed to take only 2 home games by agreeing to this today.

Markievicz park and Wexford park were unplayable also but did they agree to play elsewhere? We're they asked to play elsewhere? No the stakes are too high. Were London looked on as they had flights booked and the game had to go ahead? We should have said tough luck London, sorry but it was to be a home game for us and we are going to have it that way. Instead we agreed to play with practically no support, in the middle of a storm where the wind and rain meant that passes were hard to make, scores hard to take, risking injuries, it was a madness decision. Anything can happen in that weather that was today.

I don't think we lost the run of ourselves as a poster suggested. I honestly think on a clear day in carrick with a big home support there, that surely would have been there after the tipp win then we would have won. Alas we'll never know now. Someone agreed to this today on our side, maybe the Leitrim management thought yeah let's just get it done we are motoring nicely we'll win storm or no storm… it was a bad decision

If anyone goes on a run of wins they could go up. London have 6 points on the board already though.

Ah we are now in fairness. I was starting to hope a bit after Tipp but always knew that Sligo were going to be the team we'd need to beat and maybe if we had a good run going into that game we might be in with a chance. Now we're depending on a few things to go our way. I can't see it happening.

You've a funny definition of 'loosing the run of ourselves' if that's the case...

I was at the game today and without doubt the conditions made the game 50/50. London prob deserved the win. We had a great goal chance at the end to win it but that little bit of luck wasn't on our side today. While I don't think we will but if we win the last 4 game I believe we will still get promoted. So the lads need to keep believing. On a dry day Leitrim were 10 points a better team than London. Arguing about the game being played where it was is silly. Conditions were the same for both teams and whatever support was there was there for Leitrim. Role on next weekend and see can we get back to winning ways. No point throwing in the towel now

What were people saying that had you dragged away from the excitement of the Sligo forum to look at?

That's what I'm saying. We are too nice. This game would not have gone ahead with a 'big' county. Its tough luck if London had flights booked etc, the question is if its a money thing then they shouldn't be in this comp.

Ultimately this decision to play at a neutral venue has set London up nicely for promotion and we are nowhere again. Season practically over with a high profile management team left in situ. And London will whip us in the championship game too gan dabht. They'll only get better now and are actually favourites now most likely.

London have never complained about flights. Sour grapes.
