I agree with Grahammcs team, providing Dalton is fit.
I personally think Stephen Bray is a super player, but I do believe he is an im,pact player and he doesnt offer enough any more.

Spot on with the teams there lads. Byrne or Gilsenan is a possible area for debate but first and foremost we need those six backs on the pitch.

"Id bring in kenny, Dalton, harnan and joe. Dropping king, burke, and one of Carroll /Bray."

I like the way you think RoyalDunne. Drop three players, and sneak in four as replacements. Shhh - they'll never notice. The way we played on Saturday, we need about six lads in the half back line if we want to keep a decent forward line at bay.

I think we should start the same 6 forwards and see how we get on but changes have to be made in defence.were sean curran and young injured on saturday night does anyone know? Both played and did well in the league yet king who was on the bench all league gets in before them!! And lenahan imo has been poor all year

i dont know what everybody is talking about dropping king he did nothing wrong in wicklow game i thought he had a solid game in fact players who are being left on everyones team menton and keoghan did not play as well as king in wicklow game

Head4dblackspot dont get me wrong im a fan of king im just sayin why wasnt he given more game time in the league.at least carroll and burke were injured all year.but king was fit all year yet never started a game then is picked for first round of the championship.

Yes. To be fair the game was played around King. He was not at fault.

Lenehan has to be dropped. He is a hazard when tackling and cant do what a defender must do...
Burke. Ok he probably wasnt up to intercounty pace.

Harnan had a stormer nd is worth a place

in the forwards. Bray wont have two bad games. He will know he didnt turn up in Aughrim. Good enough if we only have 2 forwards with Wallace and Reilly. If the country believes that then fair enough.

On a note about farrell dont want to run him down considering he had a great scoring season last year but if the chap cant win ball/frees up in the forwards then he is excess to needs.

if bray got that goal near the start of the game, he would have probably got another and around 4-5 pts. also, that missed goal chance shattered his confidence, he plays much better in croker having more room to ran at defenders, i would also bring sheridan in and unfortunately drop carroll, id leave king in there, has great experience in hq...

Harnan & Kenny to come into the half back line and Joe in at Full Forward. Wallace running at defences with his pace from the half Forward line would rip any team apart. Peadar Byrne, King & Burke the men to miss out. Peadar just doesn't do enough in the game to warrant a start. Wallace & Reilly constantly running at the defence will open up more gaps in the FF line with the Wexford Full Backs having to come out to stop the runs. That will give Bray the Space he needs and open up plenty of Scores for himself & the rest of the FF line

Thanks Chris you just backed up my team lineup above. Wallace could be worth a try at wing forward as he can use his pace more. Bray would be more dangerous as a corner forward. Dalton to start if fit, if not Seamus Kenny is a capable deputy and would get the nod ahead of Lenehan and Burke. We learned a lot against Wicklow but these changes will strengthen the team for Wexford.

If and buts do not cut it im afraid, the truth of the matter is Stephen Bray missed a sitter. "if" Kevin Reilly hadnt scored that goal, we could have been beaten. It isnt about headquarters or confidence, we arent a top team, we arent gona be in croker every game and to rely on this solely, is amateur. You play the players in form and drop those who arent. Simple as that Im afraid. What we need is to get "experience" into those who dont have it, this will take a few years, but it is vital we blood these now.

Lads if you get to grips with their 2 massive mid fielders, their no 10 ( can't remember his name ) and their whole full foward line of , Banville, Barry and Lyng I will give you a chance. Wexford are a good c/ship team with loads of experience.

From looking at the Div 3 league Final, and last Saturday , M Newman looked like an excellent target man , so a full forward position for him might lead to a more balanced full forward line if S Bray went to the corner instead . Stephen still has something to offer but I think placing him in a full forward position is not playing him where he can do as much damage as he is capable off. Newman with his height , speed and accuracy from frees may be just the full forward we have been looking for since BS excelled as our free taker. remember with 4-31 to his credit in the league , it shows that he's no slouch when it comes to scoring , from play or dead ball situations.

The only changes would be a straight swap for Kenny and young Harnan in for Burke and Lenehan. I am a big fan of Joe
but I think it suits us better to keep him in reserve. Given the choice who would you rather have sitting on the bench, Farrell or Cian Ward
a fella who could go in and rip a defense apart on his own. I know Wards form has been poor but if he was sitting on the bench with a
point to prove he could be a game changer.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other as far as I an concerned. it is a long time since Cian Ward ripped apart an inter-county defence. I would be happy to do without either, throw in some more young lads and build for the future.

My team.. Although this wont be is:

O Rourke
Keoghan
O Reilly
Menton
Kenny
King
Harnan
Gillespie
Meade
Byrne
Sheridan
Reilly
Bray
Newman
Wallace

My reasoning for Joe is he can hang around the inside forward line. Nobody wants to mark him.
Carroll had a decent game against kildare 12 months ago and failed to perform since.
Kenny may not have the legs but can sweep up arond the middle.

Burke is unlucky i dont question his ability perhaps theres match fitness issue.

All in all - 8 to 15 wont change
Harnan MIGHT nick a place in the half back line.
Lets be grateful theres not casualty list ftom Saturday

For the last time, CIAN WARD WAS DROPPED FROM THE PANEL about 6 weeks ago, waste of time talking about him.

Kenny and Harnan in for Burke and Lenihan. Defence should line out

Keogan Reilly Harnan

Kenny Menton King.

Menton needs to be central, he's not a corner back.
