Lads who do u think will win Junior this year, Dunsany, Bective, The Wood daboy (Meath) - Posts: 56 - 23/01/2012 16:55:01 1098690 Link 0 |
The Wood will not get any where near the junior their an old team not much speed about them. Bective have a good chance though. As long as they don't draw as many games as they did last year. glover (Meath) - Posts: 24 - 23/01/2012 17:54:58 1098743 Link 0 |
Cant see the wood progressing into the knockout stages (the class of 96' resigned to the history books). NAIL_BAR (Meath) - Posts: 457 - 23/01/2012 20:51:41 1098938 Link 0 |
There will be more teams than Bective, the wood and Dunsany who can win. BigJoe14 (Meath) - Posts: 1013 - 23/01/2012 21:20:25 1098988 Link 0 |
i reckon there will be a few teams knockin on the door, the main teams should be dunsany, kilmainham, ratoath, curraha and bective. i know o'mahony's got to the final but i think it was a once off and don/ash will probably get out of there group but wouldnt expect them to be strong enough to actully win it. does anyone know when the draw is ment to take place. its usually around the middle of feb but does anyone know for sure de_man (Meath) - Posts: 192 - 23/01/2012 21:56:24 1099034 Link 0 |
Look no further than the Supersonic Curraha. They'll be hard stopped in Leinster, never mind Meath rath_togh (Meath) - Posts: 740 - 24/01/2012 09:51:24 1099100 Link 0 |
i reckon bective would be a strong a bet considering they only lost 1 game all last year and they will probably of learned from their mistakes in the drawn games in the championship daboy (Meath) - Posts: 56 - 25/01/2012 13:02:23 1100053 Link 0 |
I agree Bective, Dunsany and Curraha will be particularly hard to beat, they are equally as good as most Intermediate teams rath_togh (Meath) - Posts: 740 - 25/01/2012 13:24:46 1100076 Link 0 |
Id have to say Bective, Dunsany and Kilmainham are probably the ones to beat lagoreX (Meath) - Posts: 223 - 25/01/2012 13:40:26 1100094 Link 0 |
Bective or Curraha, but i think Bective have a younger stronger team overall boylanabu (Meath) - Posts: 111 - 25/01/2012 13:41:49 1100096 Link 0 |
Always get a chuckle from the Curraha praisers in January. They're Div 4 for a fair while now and while they managed to make the semis of the JFC last yr it was the first time in a long time. The_Ripper (Meath) - Posts: 184 - 25/01/2012 13:45:29 1100101 Link 0 |
i wont uderestimate curraha either. they have a young team that'll only improve, that now have a taste for the knockout stages. so could turn out to be a strong team this year de_man (Meath) - Posts: 192 - 25/01/2012 14:53:16 1100160 Link 0 |
The draw is the15th the February. Meath hill are certs for the Championship this year with Murphy over them. An_Oifigeach (Meath) - Posts: 220 - 25/01/2012 15:55:46 1100213 Link 0 |
Cheers for that. will be looking forward to hearing it, meath hill were poor last year and haven't really shown anything to suggest that they'd improve this year. have they any young players coming through. they seemed to be an old enough team last year. de_man (Meath) - Posts: 192 - 25/01/2012 16:57:02 1100259 Link 0 |
Its funny to watch people down Curraha every time one of these threads are posted up. They are genuine contenders for a Junior Championship along with 4 or 5 other teams. And most of the abuse directed towards Curraha comes from our noisy neighbours up in Ratoath. BigJoe14 (Meath) - Posts: 1013 - 25/01/2012 16:57:14 1100260 Link 0 |
Big Joe if you read my last post i said that i expect ye to do well next year, try taking that chip off your shoulder next time you start typing lagoreX (Meath) - Posts: 223 - 25/01/2012 17:33:38 1100286 Link 0 |
i love all this funny business at the start of the year the same group of guys talking up there own clubs , bective draw too many games and even pass points from a league game because championship is coming up who ever heard of that for an average junior A team , Rothath will do as they always do and make a great start but when the going get tough they will fall away as usual , Curraha do not have the players no more than the wood , Meath Hill have an outside chance but i would be looking to Kilmainham and Dunsany as the 2 major players in the championship if they can stay injury free countylegend1 (Meath) - Posts: 95 - 25/01/2012 17:37:18 1100288 Link 0 |
I'd have to say Kilmainham would be my favourites. Any Junior team that's Division 2 in the league must be worth a shot in the Championship. Its up to Curraha to show people last year wasn't just a 'flash in the pan', although they've finished 3rd the last 2 years in division 4, narrowly missing out on promotion. Ratoath must be the biggest underachievers in Meath Championship football. With the size of the parish and more importantly, the population they have, they should be at least Intermediate if not Senior. tonytookamotor (Meath) - Posts: 139 - 25/01/2012 19:25:10 1100358 Link 0 |
Dunsany to flop once again this year, the only improvement on last year is that they might flop in the final this time. I reckon it will be either Ratoath or Kilmainham lifting the cup, dont know what foundation all this Curraha hype has, one hit wonder i think. Ratoath to do it Byrne (Meath) - Posts: 110 - 25/01/2012 21:59:21 1100471 Link 0 |
Division 2 of the A league will be tough - it might be hard enough for Kilmainham to get a momentum going for the championship. However if they have some good performances then that will really build them up. Think i'd pop for Kilmainham on balance seasiderblues (Meath) - Posts: 353 - 26/01/2012 11:13:38 1100572 Link 0 |
