The upcoming under 17 leagues will give a good insight into who will make next years squad JulianstownBoyo (Meath) - Posts: 196 - 11/09/2010 20:28:29 771813 Link 0 |
I think some of ye should not be foolong yourselves- every year it is the best aquad! Who is on the team depends very much on who the selectors and manager is/from, just the same as it was last year, the year before, the year before and so on browncows (Meath) - Posts: 2342 - 11/09/2010 21:32:33 771900 Link 0 |
Totally agree with you broncows Meath will not win a minor all ireland next year and I'll be very surprised if they do, they cant physically match the teams from Ulster who all start training now. Hoganstandboy19 you're clearly from Ratoath because Colm McCullagh is not that great and will not make that team unless Dermot Rooney is involved and how can you say mark daly would be the backbone of the team when he didnt even start for the ratoath minors this year? Its simple the main players will be mcgill, sheridan, o brien, mcentee, mcmahon along with colin mcgrane and a few others. Meath_for_Sam (Meath) - Posts: 11 - 13/09/2010 21:09:32 773599 Link 0 |
wat about south meath minors?? iv heard that st.finians u17s are very strong. there should be a few minor county players there!! any na fianna? todflanders (Meath) - Posts: 3 - 17/09/2010 11:40:51 776744 Link 0 |
I disagree I think mccullagh is a very good footballer and would be a great asset to the Meath minor set up but only he recovers from the cruciate injury he suffered in the league final last year. Himself McGill, O'Brien and McMahon have been the spine of the ratoath team that have won everything around them for the last 5 years. Aside from ratoath I believe steffan mcdonnell will also be key along with Conor Sheridan and a few others johnmoore09 (Meath) - Posts: 61 - 17/09/2010 12:43:38 776844 Link 0 |
from the pats shane landy and david mcquillan should be starters with mark mcphillips and neil o'flaherty reasonable contenders for a place on the panel meathfan1 (Meath) - Posts: 231 - 17/09/2010 17:40:13 777200 Link 0 |
Jack Murray of st cuthberts should be looked at, very determined and hard working player!!! royalfollower (Meath) - Posts: 77 - 17/09/2010 18:11:28 777230 Link 0 |
if you have seen colm mc cullagh play you would realise he is a very talented player...unlike a lot of people he can play in the backs and forwards and play well in both ends of the pitch..as for mark daly he was involved with under 17 squad just few weeks ago so is clearly in the running for a position with the minors...if you want ill replace mark daly and put in a player i completely forgot about that has been mentioned...stefan mc donnell....serious talent there i believe hoganstandboy19 (Meath) - Posts: 76 - 17/09/2010 21:36:39 777425 Link 0 |
Young Summers from Ashbourne should definitely be in there, he was there two years ago at 15 why not now. Speed can do serious damage in what is loooking to be a fairly slow minor team bar McMahon from Ratoath. Summers will add pace and he can score as he has proved countless times. To bad temper issues have blighted his rep. AshDonAgh (Meath) - Posts: 1 - 30/11/2010 20:58:55 825545 Link 0 |
to boy 19, if your backbone team can stay on the field of play i would be surprised. the fighting/match in last years under 17 matches are to go by, royalwill (Meath) - Posts: 21 - 05/12/2010 19:15:36 828004 Link 0 |
all depends on who's ovr the team for the past few years theres been favoritism towards the big clubs and who's been der before know alot of players round the 21 mark u never played for meath minors who back at minor level were certainly good enough and players who wernt good enough and who were carried by the rest of the team started meath1234 (Meath) - Posts: 203 - 05/12/2010 20:29:42 828066 Link 0 |

They have been the dream team for the last 2 years sashman. They have some great individual players, but they dont play as a team. 12Royal (Meath) - Posts: 987 - 27/01/2011 16:17:47 855038 Link 0 |
God I loved 'Dream Team',karl fletcher up front knocking them in.Luis Amor Rodrigez getting shot at Wembley,Tash Parker WOW just WOW.Jerry and Linda Block, the affairs, the plane crash, the bus crash,Billy O Neill!!What a show, they never really played as a team either,it was a dressing room divided but when they played....well they played.I think our minors should follow suit, dust down few episodes and start playing like these men(sideofbacon does not take responsibility for any affairs within the minor team which may occur as a result of watching this show.) sideofbacon (Meath) - Posts: 73 - 27/01/2011 17:02:25 855076 Link 0 |
