I know all of the Eire Og girls very well, you will never meet a bunch of more dedicated players. magpie11 (Wicklow) - Posts: 143 - 29/11/2009 22:50:13 497928 Link 0 |
People I dont have any chip, in fact I love Ladies Football and all the girls involved. I have been and will continue to be a supporter going forward. My only problem is with people coming on to this forum and pretending that all is Rosey in the Garden when in fact it just is not. Now Skybluelass I am not sure what Happy pills they put in the waters of Annamoe but get real. You come on here pretending that all is great and super duper and say that everyone are Happy campers when the Facts state that all is not super duper and people are very unhappy with how 2009 went for us. Magpie 11, I too know the Eiro Og girls very well and have a lot of time for them and I am aware that they put a lot of time into Football BUT going on a Drinking session the week before a National league Final (and then getting their places ahead of others) does not, to me, give the impression of the commitment needed. Now I will say no more on the subjects as it appears that most people just want the Happy easy life and can not face the harsh and real Facts. Remember people I am not talking out of context I am only dealing with the FACTS of the year past and no one can deny that. Having said all that I do wish the Girls well in 2010 and I hope they will making better progress than in 2009. Whocares (Wicklow) - Posts: 229 - 30/11/2009 13:03:44 498237 Link 0 |
whocares, you say you have a lot of time for the young Eire Og girls but yet you would come on this forum and say it is "well documented" that these girls lack commitment and dedication. They probably held the best attendance record at training all year and showed the most determination in playing for their county. They range from age 17-21 and are all students so to travel to training around the county nearly three times a week costs them alot but they just get on with it, so if anything their commitment is well documented. So they made a mistake, but you are exagurating this beyond belief with your alleged "drinking session 1 week before NFL final" . Having two or three drinks on the 25th of April (we know this because the girls played Arklow the next day, the 26th) is not one week before the national league final (Saturday 9th May).Get your facts right. I will gladly advise these girls to stay away from this forum as they do not deserve this kind of ridicule and do not need to see it. Your support to these girls is appreciated Skybluelass and magpie11 wicklowforsam (Wicklow) - Posts: 18 - 30/11/2009 17:29:25 498554 Link 0 |
whocares I am NOT saying or pretending that everything is rosey in the garden..i do accept that we should've done a lot better the past season- we did try our best- I am merely defending my team-mates who I regard highly and you who seem to be the only one on this forum who has slated them. I understand and respect peoples opinions...ie yours- however when they become personal and out of line about friends and team-mates of mine, you cross the line between the professional side of it ie the football and the person side of it, about what you say first because from what I've just read about you saying about the girls, I can for a fact say that your information is not as well verified or true as you think- so get our facts straight please skyblueLass (Wicklow) - Posts: 54 - 30/11/2009 21:53:10 498894 Link 0 |
One good thing I suppose is the obvious passion that so many people have for the betterment of Ladies Football in the County, it would be an awful lot worse if no one cared! It would be absoultely fantastic if the County team were to reach an All Ireland Final in 2010, and it is definitely within their reach - but it seems to be the opinion of many (including my own if I am honest) that it will not happen with the current structure in place. We shall wait and see..... W4S (Wicklow) - Posts: 104 - 05/12/2009 09:01:11 503768 Link 0 |
Bray 5.4 AGB 2.3. Terrible Conditions! Aine O'Gorman was "Class". wicklowrunner (Wicklow) - Posts: 637 - 05/12/2009 11:47:42 503868 Link 0 |
Thanks for the update Wicklowrunner. Is AIne O'Gorman the Soccer player ? I didn't make it over on Friday as the weather was terrible and the Roads weren't great. Fair play to all the girls involved for putting on any sort of a match in those conditions ! Whocares (Wicklow) - Posts: 229 - 07/12/2009 10:09:03 505627 Link 0 |

Aine O'Gorman, is an International Soccer Player for Ireland. I think she & Tanya McDonald (AGB) are going to commit to the County in 2010. If so, this will be a great Full Forward Line! wicklowrunner (Wicklow) - Posts: 637 - 08/12/2009 09:31:58 506878 Link 0 |
Sounds promising wicklowrunner, we still need a centre forward though! W4S (Wicklow) - Posts: 104 - 08/12/2009 15:17:30 507253 Link 0 |

Wicklowrunner, I heard from one of the county girls that they asked Tanya if she would play county next year after the county league semi and she said she wasn't interested. I hope that she does though, she would be a real asset as would Aine. Bridalceoil (Wicklow) - Posts: 115 - 08/12/2009 18:49:30 507564 Link 0 |
Bridalceoil that would be very disappointing if they dont play, but not surprising at the same time. I just can not understand why people would not want to represent their County. Is it the club holding them back or the players personal choice ? Whocares (Wicklow) - Posts: 229 - 09/12/2009 10:17:54 508140 Link 0 |
Hi, I know its a bit late fot this reply, but in relation to what Jitter and Bridalceoil said a while ago, I'm fairly sure I'm that player that was being spoken about.. I'm not going to make any comment on management, but I want to clear something up - I was told not to bother coming to training because I was injured and was travelling all over the place to just stand and watch, but was told to come along to matches as I was still considered part of the squad. So it wasnt that I just wasnt showing up at training!! But anyway obviously they must have changed their minds because they stopped telling me when matches were on and had no interest when I was back fit but whatever I'm not bitter!! So what would peoples opinion be on what we should expect from Wicklow Ladies next year? Holding our own in the league maybe? Or Leinster Champions? All Ireland Final? W4S (Wicklow) - Posts: 104 - 20/12/2009 08:38:54 518812 Link 0 |

Any news on the managerial front guys? When is the league starting? Tough group with the girls rubbing shoulders with the likes of Cavan, Waterford, Fermanagh, Roscommon and Westmeath in the group. No doubt the girls will be no push overs either! Bridalceoil (Wicklow) - Posts: 115 - 13/01/2010 18:41:05 532240 Link 0 |
