is there a case for the U20's on the senor panel to be returned to the U20's. i can't see how getting these hammerings is of any benefit to them and will drain them of all confidence for the U20 championship. let them focus on U20's and give that a good rattle. just a question. what do people think.

best of luck to our U20's and Minors this week, 2 very big games for both.

its an all time low, it appears nothing was really done to actually put a team out. i had great hope for Declan Bohan but this has happened on his watch, he should have been strong enough to say no, we're putting a team out, did they say they had 13-14 players available ? so all they needed was another 3-4. really really poor stuff from the county board and the manager.

we can talk about regional teams, bad county boards etc etc etc but until the provincial championships goes and county football introduces a senior, intermediate and maybe junior all ireland we will continue to have these conversations for years to come. we are simply out of our depth. we will lose the first round by potentially 30 points this year. which won't develop anyone. the elephant in the room is the provincial championships. they need to go.

who cares about Aidan O'Se and Mayo

Replying To gaelsboy:  "I thought it would be the other way round, great to see us sticking at it and getting that crucial win vs a far better resourced county and a day out in the AI semis. B competitions are our level right now so let's see how the minors and 20s get on"
yes its great to see both teams still at it. as you say B comps are our level. and its important we be competitive in them. well done to both the U20's and the minors.

better performance yesterday, Cox and Honeyman very lively which bodes well, keeper is an issue, kickouts very one dimensional, no variety, also not great under a high ball.

Replying To sillyjambon12:  "Marys wouldve scored only 1 point because atleast Mohill play forward instead of just back and forth. Shame on you Marysman, shame on you..."
shocking display from Mohill, way too negative, only 1 point from play, its embarrassing for Leitrim football, Beirne and Reynolds played as defenders most of the game. The negative style didn't work as they lost by 10. new rules can't come quick enough and i'd say an unfit Keith Beirne would second that. I hope Keith Beirne goes back to the county and gets fit so we can see the class player that he is. at the moment he's a shadow of his former self and i really hope he gets back to the top level. Mohill and Leitrim badly need him firing on all cylinders.

i just think its the easy option by the county board, knowing clubs have a few euro. from my reading of the breakdown of the money needed for the full project, the county board are getting €300k of grant funding and €83k of shortfall as they say, with the 83 to be funded by clubs, so its being fully funded by grants and clubs. surely Avant money can be tapped up as from what i hear they pay very little for the naming rights, circa 20k, they'll get lots of publicity with the newly redeveloped Avant Money Pairc Sean being banded about.

Replying To Willies24:  "Darragh Rooney Keith Beirne (when he is trouble free) Ryan O Roarke Donal Casey Barry McNulty There is 5 top class players of the past 3 years never mind 20. Do u even go to Leitrim matches? Such Nonsence."
in fairness casey and rooney were very poor when push came to shove in croke park last year so i'd take them off that list immediately, casey doesn't play enough either to be considered top class,

Replying To lugdrum:  "Pretty simple inherited a team in Div 4 and left them in Div 3. Has each player buying into S&C which we were years behind. The foundations are now there for the team to progress"
don't be naive, Micky Graham had a big hand in all that and lets be honest, bar a dubious penalty promotion wouldn't have happened, Moran should've gone after New York, no other manager in the country would've been kept, only our county board hadn't the balls to do it. losing to New York isn't progress.

Replying To williesboy:  "Of course he could have played with Leitrim. Andy Moran dropping his name all year but Ryan had no intention in togging out for Leitrim."
I suppose its understandable, Fenagh have a serious chance of winning the senior championship and with the McCormacks on board they might be the final piece of the jigsaw, understandable so Ryan is focusing on the club.

Replying To Leitrimforliam:  "Their pitch is ready to go but there's a rule against playing games on a pitch without a fence around it. I believe they plan to open after Christmas possibly an FBD League game. Great development there's a walking track, playground and they have two huge ball stop nets on both pitches. They just have to erect the fencing around the pitch and the lights on both pitches. The total cost of the development was €560,000. Amazingly half of this was raised by families paying 25€ a month over the duration of the development. I believe Gortletteragh were the first club in the county to have their own pitch. I am told there is talk of a stand being erected too."
when you see fantastic development like that it puts our county board to shame to be serving up a pitch like Pairc Sean. well done to the people of Gortlettragh a great club.

McNulty had a super game in the sigerson last night but did he injure himself when he took his penalty, he seemed to hold his hamstring after taking it and hobbled off. anyone else notice this. hopefully i'm wrong.

a win on Sunday but performance wasn't great, Ryan O'rourke, Darragh Rooney and McNulty were good up front. Defenders did well at times. bit worried about Donal Wrynn, he has a lot of work to do on fitness, surprised he stayed on as long as he did. great news about the Walsh kid, he'll bring another dimension to our play. 2 worst teams outta the way so bigger challenges to come. onwards and upwards.
