GAA on TV: our first taste of AFLW plus some old gems

This weekend sees TG4 start their coverage of Women’s AFL plus there are some great All-Ireland finals to relive.
Also on is a repeat of the fantastic documentary looking at the work Ballymun Kickhams do in their community.
Saturday 30 January

12.20pm: Ballymun Kickhams (Passing it on) - A documentary telling the story of a GAA club that provided hope and guidance to the young people of Ballymun.

5.10pm: AFL Aussie Rules na mBan - Action from the first round of the Women's Australian Football League. AFL Women's is Australia's national semi-professional Australian rules football league for female players and fourteen teams will be participating in the competition. There are many players from Ireland playing in the Women's AFL, including Ladies Gaelic Football players such as Cora Staunton, Bríd Stack, Sinéad Goldrick, Sarah Rowe, Niamh McEvoy and many more.

6.45pm: Offaly v Galway, All-Ireland SFC final - The 1971 All-Ireland SFC decider saw Offaly chasing their first ever title, but they were the underdogs against a Galway team who had won three-in-a-row five years earlier.

9.45pm: Derry v Cork, All-Ireland SFC final - The 1993 All-Ireland final as Derry look to win a first ever title against a Cork side that won back to back championships three years previously.

8:30pm: Laochra Gael - The new series of Laochra Gael continues with the story of Shane Curran. Shane turned his back on a lucrative soccer career, and so Gaelic Football followers got to enjoy one of the games great characters. Whether he was causing chaos as with a controversial penalty or literally spilling his own blood as Roscommon captain, you couldn't keep your eyes off "Cake". Behind the antics was a deadly serious competitor, the prototype of the modern playmaking goalkeeper, who warmed the hearts of the nation when he finally won his All Ireland medal with his club at the age of 40.
