Animal lover Ellen passed away following a brief illness on December 21 last. Aged just 33, she was married to Robert and was a loving mother to Shannen and baby Nancy Rose. Her father Peter is a former chairman of the Garrycastle ladies football club for whom Shannen once played.

As a mark of respect to Ellen and the Devery family, Garrycastle postponed their Derek Daly Memorial 5k run, which was scheduled for St. Stephen's Day, to New Year's Day.
