Bray, Jimmy

A lifelong GAA enthusiast, Jimmy was in his 90th year when he passed to his reward in November. His involvement with the Delvin GAA spanned many decades. He held a variety of roles, including chairman, mentor, selector and committee member. Jimmy was a selector with the team that ended a 20-year wait by claiming junior hurling championship honours in 1988. A great occasion for the Bray family was crowned when Jimmy's son Willie scored the winning goal in the final against Raharney.

The following year, Delvin won the junior football championship. Jimmy savoured that success, as he did when Westmeath won All-Ireland minor and U21 titles in 1995 and '99, and the Leinster senior championship in 2004.
