A native of Tyrrellspass and a sister of the 'singing priest' Fr Ray Kelly, Regina lived on the Tullamore Road, Kilbeggan for more than half of her 59 years where she and husband Seamus reared their four children. Only son Richie played on the Kilbeggan Shamrocks team that won the intermediate championship in 2000, while Seamus has been a great supporter of the club down through the years.

Regina was a popular member of the teaching staff at the local Scoil an Chlochair before losing her long battle with cancer on February 11 last.
