Marie Dermody (née Power) of Ballycomoyle, Castlepollard passed away on Thursday, September 29th, 2016. Marie and her husband, John, were great supporters of Lough Lene Camogie Club down through the years and their daughter, Celeste, has served the club superbly as both a player and administrator. The Dermody family also boasts strong ties to Ballycomoyle GFC, dating back to the reformation of the club in 1985, and were involved with Castletown-Finea before that. Marie's sons were instrumental in the junior championship success in 1991 and her grandsons and granddaughters are involved at present. Members of Lough Lene Camogie Club provided a Guard of Honour as the funeral cortege arrived in Castlepollard and were also represented at the funeral Mass.
