Thomas 'Tommy' Egerton, Newdown, The Downs, Mullingar was in his 94th year when he passed away on Monday. October 9th, 2017. An integral part of the close-knit community in The Downs, he enjoyed all the local cultural activities that define the region, including gaelic football. A butcher by trade, Tommy made a massive contribution to the proud history of the local GAA club as a member of the very first The Downs side to claim the Westmeath junior football championship.
