This weekend’s Dr McKenna Cup semi-final line-ups have been confirmed following last night’s results in the competition.
Derry’s last-gasp draw against Tyrone in Owenbeg, where it finished 0-10 apiece, sees them through to the last four against Down on Sunday at Pairc Esler (throw-in 1.30pm).
Rory Gallagher’s side snatched a share of the points thanks to Lachlan Murray sending over with the last kick of the game to give the Oak Leafers the best runners-up position.
Tyrone are also through to the semi-finals on Saturday when they’ll face Cavan at Kingspan Breffni (throw-in 5pm).
The Breffni men were 1-14 to 1-9 winners over Armagh last night in Cavan Town, where Ryan O’Neill’s goal after eight minutes paved the way to victory.
Kieran McGeeney would make 11 changes to his side in total at half-time in a clash which saw captain Raymond Galligan making his 100th appearance for Cavan.
The night’s other meeting saw Monaghan edging out Donegal by 0-15 to 2-7 in Ballybofey, but it wasn’t enough for the holders as they exited the competition after having lost out to Down in Castleblayney last week.
