Wicklow are on the lookout for a new senior football manager after Colin Kelly surprisingly stepped down last night.
The former Louth and Westmeath boss has cited a change in work circumstances as his reason for vacating the role after less than five months. Appointed as Davy Burke's successor last October, Kelly presided over just four Allianz League Division 3 matches which yielded three defeats and a draw.
There is already speculation that Wicklow U20 manager and Mayo native Alan Costello will fill the void.
“This evening, Colin Kelly has stepped down from his role as Wicklow Senior football manager due to a change in work commitments,” a Wicklow GAA statement read last night.
“Wicklow GAA Management Committee would like to thank Colin for his dedication and hard work since taking up the role and wish him the very best in the future.
““In light of this, Wicklow GAA Management Committee will meet to discuss the management of the Senior Football team for the remainder of the season”.
