Leitrim GAA has paid a heartfelt tribute to a young Manorhamilton woman and teacher who died earlier this week.
Maeve Haslette (nee Kerrigan), who was married to former Leitrim footballer Ronan Haslette, passed away in Sligo University Hospital on Monday. She will be laid to rest today (Thursday) and, as a mark of respect, local businesses, including Kerrigan Quarries, Óstaw8 Restaurant, Costcutters, Thornton's Butchers, Merenda and Manorhub, will close their doors.
Reacting to the heartbreaking news, a post on Leitrim GAA’s Facebook page read: “Leitrim GAA extends our deepest sympathies to Maeve’s husband Ronan, her father Seamus, brothers Shane, Pauric and James, and the extended Kerrigan, Haslette and Dolan families on the sad passing of Maeve Haslette (née Kerrigan), Towneymoyle, Manorhamilton.
“Ronan is a former Leitrim star and has been a long-time supporter and fundraiser for Leitrim GAA, while the Kerrigan family’s Kerrigan Group are valued sponsors of our Minor team.
“Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis.”
