The All-Ireland SFC preliminary quarter-final draw has thrown up a huge local derby between Galway and Mayo.

The old rivals were the last two names out of the drum when the draw was made on RTÉ Radio One's Morning Ireland this morning. Both teams ended up in the draw following defeats to Armagh and Cork respectively yesterday, with Galway being the only one of the provincial champions not to qualify directly for the quarter-finals.

Padraic Joyce's side will have home advantage, meaning the game will be played in Salthill.

There is another derby in Ulster where Donegal will host Tyrone in Ballybofey. Kildare will have home advantage (more than likely UMPC Nowlan Park) for their clash with Monaghan after Kevin Feely's late point handed them a surprise victory over Roscommon yesterday, while the Rossies face a long trek to Cork after finishing third in Group 3.

The CCCC will confirm the arrangements shortly for the four ties which will be played next weekend.
