Martin Keoghan struck a goal in each half as Kilkenny brushed aside Dublin this evening with a 3-25 to 0-17 victory to edge closer to the Leinster senior hurling championship final.
The sides were level on 0-9 apiece when Keoghan rattled in his first goal on 27 minutes and from there Brian Cody’s men would go on to lead by 1-11 to 0-11 at the break.
The sides cancelled each other out with 0-3 apiece in the opening 10 minutes of the restart, but when Keoghan netted again with this quick turn and finish it was the first real sign that game started to slip away from the hosts.
Billy Ryan and TJ Reid sailed over points prior to Reid netting this clever goal (see below) to seal the deal and leave the Cats within touching distance of another provincial decider.
