Cork football manager Ronan McCarthy and his Down counterpart Paddy Tally are set to be handed 12-week suspensions for breaches of the GAA's training ban according to reports on RTE and the Irish Examiner.

The GAA are expected to hand down sanctions after the duo were found to be overseeing collective sessions that breached training guidelines.

It is also understood that both counties will lose home advantage for one game in the Allianz Football League which has been rescheduled to start at the end of next month.

Last month, Down GAA said they did not expect to face any sanctions after they were found to have undertaken a training session at Abbey CBS, while Cork were deemed to have trained at Youghal Beach.

The bans which are expected to be handed down will come into effect once the ban on inter-county training is lifted.
