Aidan O'Mahony will take charge of his home club Rathmore in 2026.

The five-time Kerry All-Ireland SFC winner and two-time All-Star defender replaces David McCarthy who stepped aside after Rathmore's were edged out by Dr Crokes in last month's East Kerry O'Donoghue Cup final.

O'Mahony himself only stepped down as manager of Cork intermediate side Marcroom a fortnight ago after two seasons at the helm. His 25-year playing career with Rathmore culminated in an All-Ireland club IFC final victory over Galbally from Tyrone in 2023.
