DCU are set to face UL in the semi-finals of the Sigerson Cup next Wednesday night.
Following last night’s draw, the GAA Higher Education confirmed that the game will be played as a double-header at Netwatch Cullen Park, with DCU and UL meeting at 6.15pm and TU Dublin and UCC crossing swords in the other semi-final at 8pm.
TU Dublin sealed their place in the last four last night by sending UCD crashing out with a 0-16 to 0-15 victory after extra time in Grangegorman
UCC came out on top in a penalty shoot-out with St Mary’s at Abbotstown last night to seal their semi-final berth. The sides couldn’t be separated after 80 minutes, with the score after extra time reading 1-10 apiece before Mark Cronin fired in the winning penalty for the Cork students to advance through 3-2.
Last night’s Fitzgibbon Cup group games saw SETU Waterford edge a 1-19 to 0-20 win against MTU while DCU came through by the minimum against SETU Carlow (3-14 to 1-19).
