Tyrone's Lee Brennan

Lee Brennan has become the latest player to opt out of Tyrone’s senior football squad.

Multiple reports yesterday suggested that Brennan has stepped away from the Red Hands’ set-up for the rest of the season after not getting any game time in the first four round of the Allianz League.

It sees the Trillick clubman becoming sixth player to leave last year’s All-Ireland SFC winning panel following Tiernan McCann, Ronan O’Neill, Hugh Pat McGeary, Mark Bradley, and Michael Cassidy.

Brennan’s last championship appearance for Tyrone was back in 2018 when he came off the bench to kick 0-3 in the All-Ireland final defeat to Dublin and, while he played in his county’s four McKenna Cup games at the start of this year, he saw no game time during their Division 1 campaign under joint-managers Feargal Logan and Brian Dooher.
