Limerick manager John Kiely has named a strong line-up to face Galway in tomorrow evening’s All-Ireland SHC semi-final at Croke Park.
With skipper Declan Hannon sidelined by a knee injury, Kyle Hayes moves from wing-back to the centre-back position while Gearoid Hegarty drops back from half-forward to occupy Hayes’ usual post in the number seven jersey.
Hegarty won an All-Ireland 21 medal while playing wing back for the Shannonsiders back in 2015 and is set to make up what is an impressive half-back line alongside Hayes and Diarmuid Byrnes this weekend.
Elsewhere, another former Hurler of the Year in Cian Lynch returns from injury for the Liam MacCarthy Cup holders at centre-forward and captains the team in Hannon’s absence.
Galway, meanwhile, have named an unchanged side from the one which defeated Tipperary by two points at the TUS Gaelic Grounds a fortnight ago.
Throw-in at headquarters is at 6pm.
