'He doesn't need to do that'

Colm Cooper has raised concerns about Tyrone's discipline in the wake of their Allianz Football League defeat to Dublin.

The Red Hands' All-Ireland winning captain Pádraig Hampsey was sent off for needlessly shouldering Cormac Costello on the concrete path off the pitch as he retrieved the ball during yesterday's game in Omagh. Hampsey, who had already received a black card in the first half, was issued with a yellow card by referee Barry Cassidy, meaning he was off.

"It's on concrete. He doesn't need to do that," Cooper said on RTÉ's Allianz League Sunday.

"There's nothing too serious in it, but it can be dangerous hitting a player when he's on concrete like that.

"The question I'm asking myself is why bother? Just get the ball back in play, you're chasing the game. When you've received the black card, why would you be thinking about hitting somebody off the side of the pitch?"

"Maybe a couple of times, Tyrone's discipline has let them down this year."
