Oisin Mullin marked his return to club football in style last night (Friday), scoring 2-5 as Kilmaine claimed the South Mayo Junior B championship title.

The Geelong Cats defender lined out at midfield for his native club and played a key role in their 2-15 to 0-14 victory over Garrymore in the county final.

Mullin’s return provided a memorable boost for Kilmaine, with the former Mayo star making the most of the opportunity to represent his club while back home from Australia.

The 26-year-old moved to the AFL in 2023 after establishing himself as one of Mayo’s leading defenders, having played a key role in the county’s run to the 2021 All-Ireland SFC final.

Mullin had also been the subject of an ambitious attempt by Mayo manager Andy Moran to bring him home for this year’s All-Ireland final against Kerry. Moran subsequently confirmed that he would have selected the Geelong player had he been available.
