The death has taken place of former Munster Council Treasurer and PRO, Anthony Walsh of Waterford.

Following his playing career with his beloved GAA Club Colligan, Anthony served in numerous administrative roles with his club, with the Western Divisional GAA Board and Waterford GAA County Board. Anthony served as Waterford delegate to Munster Council before being elected as Munster GAA Treasurer in 2014. Three years later, Anthony was elected as Munster GAA Public Relations Officer.

Munster GAA Chairman Tim Murphy said: “Anthony Walsh gave a lifetime of service to the GAA as a player and administrator. After a long stint as Waterford delegate to Munster Council, Anthony served on the Management Committee of Munster GAA from 2014 to 2020 during which time he assumed the roles of Treasurer and then PRO.

"Following the end of his term as PRO, Anthony was appointed to the role of Chairperson of the Munster GAA Cultural Committee (Coiste Cultúrtha). On behalf of Munster GAA, we extend our heartfelt sympathies to Anthony’s family along with his wide circle of friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.”
