Cork football manager John Cleary expects Cathail O’Mahony to be sidelined for the “next few weeks” after he suffered a hamstring injury in last week’s Sigerson Cup final.
The dual star, who won an All-Ireland club JHC medal with Ballygiblin last month, missed Sunday’s defeat to Dublin after sustaining the injury during UCC’s extra-time win over UL last Wednesday. He was due to have a scan yesterday to ascertain the extent of the damage.
The highly-rated forward was sidelined for 10 weeks in 2021 after tearing his hamstring in an Allianz League Division 2 relegation playoff win over Westmeath, and Cork supporters are keeping their fingers crossed that this injury is less serious.
