The Ireland squad for the upcoming Hurling / Shinty international has been announced.
Eleven counties are represented in the squad that will take on Scotland on Saturday week, October 26 at Cusack Park in Ennis. The squad will be captained by Laois goalkeeper Enda Rowland who is one of six survivors from last year's panel, the others being Caolan Taggart (Down), Luca McCusker (Fermanagh), James Toher (Meath), Eoghan Cahill (Offaly) and Ben Conneely (Offaly).
"We are delighted with our progress; we have a strong panel assembled for the Hurling-Shinty International with representation from 11 counties," said Michael Kavanagh, who is joint-manager along with Terence 'Sambo' McNaughton.
"It’s vital that we as an Association maintain our traditions, and this event affords hurlers from all tiers the opportunity to play together. The players are all looking forward, as are all our management team to October 26th when we welcome the Scotland team to Páirc Uí Chíosóg."
The game will be shown live on the official TG4 YouTube channel.
