Former Munster rugby star takes charge of Meath club

Former Munster and Ireland rugby star Niall Ronan has been appointed manager of Meath club side St Colmcille’s.
The Bettystown man played rugby professionally for Munster, Leinster and Ireland for over a decade before returning to his GAA roots and winning a Meath IFC medal with St Colmcille's in 2016. The Cille's went on to reach the All-Ireland final, only to lose to Lee Keegan's Westport. He was a strength and conditioning coach with the Meath senior footballers a few seasons ago.
“We are delighted to announce that Niall Ronan has been ratified as senior football manager for 2024,” St Colmcille’s said in a post on social media.
“A former player, Niall was one of the stars of our 2016 Meath and Leinster Intermediate Championship winning side that went all the way to Croke Park for the All-Ireland final.
“We wish Niall and all the squad the very best of luck for 2024 as we look to build on the club’s excellent progress.”
