An incident packed first-half of today's All-Ireland SFC semi-final ended with Kerry leading Dublin by 1-8 to 0-6 - the Kingdom could have been further in front but Sean O'Shea's penalty was saved by goalkeeper Evan Comerford.
Referee Paddy Neilan pointed to the spot after Gavin White was deemed to have been fouled inside the large square. But O'Shea - who had already beaten Comerford for the opening goal - hit his effort tamely into the arms of the Ballymun Kickhams netminder.
The Kingdom's centre forward was fortunate to escape punishment for his follow up as he drove the boot on the rebound and connected with the Dublin number one.
Tempers flared in the wake of that incident with Kerry's Paul Geaney and opponent Lee Gannon being issued yellow cards. Dublin wing-back John Small also received a black card for an off-the-ball challenge on Geaney earlier on.
