Leitrim’s Keith Beirne has been tearing it up as of late and currently leads the Allianz Football League’s scoring charts across all four divisions after five rounds.

The Mohill sharpshooter struck 1-9 in the Connacht men’s victory over Carlow last weekend to keep them in the promotion hunt in Division 4 while raising his own personal tally for the league thus far to 1-40.

That tally takes Beirne above Louth’s Sam Mulroy who leads the way in Division 3 with 2-35 to his name, while in Division 2 it’s Derry marksman Shane McGuigan that is out in front with 1-27 although, as it stands, he is suspended for the Oak Leafers’ crunch clash with Galway at Owenbeg on Sunday.

Leading the way in the scoring stakes in Division 1 are Kildare’s Jimmy Hyland (2-21) and Mayo’s Ryan O’Donoghue (1-24), while it’s no surprise to see Kerry star David Clifford (3-16) is in hot pursuit as the Kingdom are in pole position for an Allianz League final berth.
