Tipperary ladies football star Caitlin Kennedy has signed a rookie contract with the Brisbane Lions.

Kennedy’s older sister Anna-Rose played three seasons with Geelong and has now decided to follow her to the AFLW. She will be the fourth Irish player on Brisbane's list for the season, joining fellow-Tipp woman Orla O’Dwyer, All-Australian Jennifer Dunne from Dublin and Kildare’s Neasa Dooley.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Brisbane Lions. I can’t wait to immerse myself in the club and learn from the players and coaching staff,” Kennedy said.

“The Lions have built an amazing culture and had great success over recent years, and I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it.

“I’m really excited to embrace the challenge of a new sport and country.”
