Tickets have already sold out for Sunday week’s Allianz Hurling League Division 1A and 1B double-header at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

Stands tickets were snapped up within minutes of going on sale through Ticketmaster on Monday evening, while terrace tickets also quickly sold out. There is huge interest in the Division 1A final between old rivals Cork and Tipp, with each of the former’s three home games to date this year having attracted crowds of over 20,000. Cork haven’t won an Allianz League title since 1998, while Tipp’s most recent triumph was in 2008.

With over 45,000 expected to pack the Leeside venue, it will be the biggest attendance at an Allianz Hurling League final since 2019 when 44,257 watched the Limerick-Waterford decider, which was played as part of a double-header with the Division 1 Football final between Mayo and Kerry at Croke Park.

Cork have been handed home advantage to facilitate a home and away arrangement with Tipp, while Waterford and Offaly face off in the preceding Division 1B final. Many supporters of the competing counties have expressed disappointment at not having the opportunity to purchase tickets through their clubs and county boards, although a small number have become available and will be distributed via this method over the next day or two.

In Offaly, for example, each club will be allotted 10 tickets.
