Patrick Horgan returned from injury to hit 2-9 as Glen Rovers overcame Castlelyons by 3-16 to 1-16 in the Cork SHC ‘A’ semi-final at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh yesterday.

In what was his first appearance since the All-Ireland SHC final, the veteran county star proved the difference as he rattled off 2-4 inside the first 17 minutes to leave the city side just 60 minutes away from a return to the top flight in 2025. Glen’s 97-year stay in the PSHC was ended following a relegation playoff defeat to Kanturk last year.

Alan Fenton shot 0-9 for last year’s PIHC winners who were within striking distance after Eoin O’Leary scored their third goal, only for Glen to reply with four unanswered points down the home straight.
