Dublin sub-goalkeeper Evan Comerford’s season has been ended by an ACL injury.

Stephen Cluxton’s understudy withdrew from the match-day squad for last Sunday week’s Leinster SFC final win over Louth after suffering the injury during Ballymun Kickhams’ Division 1 League clash with Na Fianna the previous night. A scan has since revealed the extent of the damage.

Comerford’s last appearance for Dublin came in the Allianz League final which they lost to Derry following a penalty shootout. The injury means that David O’Hanlon will provide back-up for the evergreen Cluxton in the upcoming All-Ireland SFC campaign.
