Kerry star David Clifford paid tribute to the late Red Óg Murphy in his captain’s speech after today’s Allianz Football League final against Mayo at Croke Park.
Red Óg, who played for Curry, DCU, and Sligo died tragically on Friday at 21 years of age and tributes for the talented footballer have been pouring in since.
Clifford played against Red Óg at the Sigerson Cup’s semi-final stage when UL met DCU earlier this year and both players were selected on the 2022 Higher Education Football Team of the Year.
"I want to send regards from everyone in Kerry GAA to the family of Red Óg Murphy from Sligo," Clifford said in his captain's speech.
"We were all lucky enough to see Red Óg play in the Sigerson this year, and we saw what he could do."
