Galway boss Padraic Joyce says his team will accept whatever decision is made with regards to use of Hawkeye for Sunday week’s All-Ireland SFC final.
The Tribesmen are set to take on Kerry at Croke Park bidding for a first Sam Maguire Cup triumph since 2001.
There had been controversy during their semi-final win over Derry last weekend after the Connacht champions’ marksman Shane Walsh saw a ‘45’ ruled wide by Hawkeye only for RTE’s cameras to show at half-time that the shot had in fact sailed over inside the post.
Galway chairman Paul Bellew since claimed that they would not have come out of the dressing room for the second-half unless referee Brendan Cawley overturned Hawkeye’s call – which he did – but Joyce said it was never going to be the case.
"We were never not going to come out, don't worry about that," he is quoted saying by BBC Sport NI.
"We have to go with what Croke Park decide. They're the governing body of the GAA, they tell us when we're playing, where we're playing and who's refereeing the matches.
"We've enough to be worrying about. All we can do is tell players that when they're shooting to put it over the middle spot if they can so that there's no doubt."
The two-time All-Ireland winner added: "That score that Shane kicked, there wasn't even a debate on that. It was a foot inside the post. We asked for clarity from our county secretary, I said 'that ball was over, you need to go and review that'.
"In fairness the umpire on the day, he waved it over. Even when he crossed the flags, if you watch the tape he was shaking heads with the other umpire that they had to cancel the score."
