The Gaza Strip -> that mile West of the bridge. Or maybe Northern Ireland where you can can hold either passport (but never both!)

Just to follow-up it actually shows just how tiny a parish An Spidéal actually is: - Bearna na F: All the way to the top of the hill after/west-of Pádraicíns - Spidéal start maybe 3-4km east of the village but esentially ends right at its own village or just after - Maigh Cuillinn then starts maybe 2km N of the village and the sea cuts it off to the S Actually a very small village and for a few years were senior football and intermediate hurling. In fairness they seem to be punching above their weight for the size of the place and I believe they have a good cohort of dual players. Should be a tight intermediate final and dont see much seperating the teams but feel Spiddal have the better scoring forward O Laoi`s & O conghaile. Hard to look past Moola Cullen INC for the senior and i fancy them by 4+

This new club/county calendar is working great, but one disadvantage seems to be that the senior finals are just pitching into inclement weather conditions each season. Last year, it was horrible for the hurling. This week's football final looks like being played on a pitch 'watered' to the tune of 35mm of Saturday rain, and in 35mph west wind. That'll probably feel and look like 50mph wind in Pearce Stadium. Pope_Benedict (Galway) - Posts: 4927 - 22/10/2026 14:14:45 2698216 Link 0 |

It's pot luck at this time of year. The hurling semi last Sunday was played in beautiful weather, as was the minor football final. It looks like this Sunday will be fine for the intermediate final. Saturday not looking good, but worse in other parts of the country. Of course the chances of bad weather are greater at this time of year, but not much else which can be done. The majority of this year's championships were played in very good weather on excellent pitches. There were dozens of matches and hundreds of players involved. The split season calendar played a big part in that. At least at this stage there is only a small number of matches and fewer pitches needed, although they are of course the most important matches. Unless we start with the finals and work our way backward to the group stages, it's hard to see another solution. WanPintWin (Galway) - Posts: 3129 - 22/10/2026 14:46:21 2698219 Link 0 |

U19C final, Carna/Na Piarsaigh v Milltown in Tuam @ 11.00 Saturday. A 2 hour drive from Carna, 15 minutes from Milltown! Some "county" board! Crashingwaves (Galway) - Posts: 376 - 22/10/2026 15:39:20 2698230 Link 1 |

Pity senior final is not on TG4. Hurling senior final is. Club football is evenly matched but I fancy Moycullen to win this by one or two points. It could go to extra time, and no surprise if Salthill K, win either. galwayford (Galway) - Posts: 2780 - 22/10/2026 16:04:59 2698236 Link 0 |

If Spiddal win in Sunday they will not stay up in senior.they don't have the depth in the panel or the young players coming up.They do have good forwards but bare there 6 and Tomas farthing there very limited in the back .it be good if Chairlistrane go up as they might have some hope of staying up senior
