I thought we were very poor in the second half. We are a better team when we play forward football, but for whatever reason we stopped playing that way in the second half. Taking balls into tackles, I lost count how many times we were disposessed when doing that. We handed Dromard a goal and at least 2 points from those situations. Surely we can't play any worse next week.....but as Mick McCarthy said when asked 'It can't get any worse?' and his reply was 'It can!'.....well I just hope we can improve. Jack was a huge loss to us going off injured and is more than likely out for next week along with Ross Shields. We were very lucky to get a replay, theres no denying that. Abbeylara did not show up, which is very unlikely them. Killoe are happy to see Clonguish and Dromard.. That semi final was tough, intense and great display of tackling by both teams. Not a free flowing game as predicted. Both teams will be happy to go at it again next Saturday. I've never seen a championship won by winning a semi-final. If Killoe play similar to that they will be favourites, but they may not play like that again. That said, they look very balanced and they could loose a player or 2 without it affecting them. Other teams are in trouble when the loose players to injury. Duggan will be a massive loss. I think Dromard missed their boat and will not get the same below-par Clonguish in the replay. At the minute, Killoe look the form team and should rightly be favourites, but form can be temporary and they will still have to show up and perform well. If they perform well they will win. I think Sean Connollys will have too much for Mostrim. They have added some nice young players this year and have more danger men in attack. They look stronger in the margins as well and look fitter all year than Mostrim. Mostrim were a whisker away from a relegation scrap and have done very well to be where they are. I fear they are not a club on an upward trajectory and that Connollys are. Very lucky to be getting a second bite of the cherry after a poor performance. Neither team deserved to win it so a draw was a fair result. Killoe fans leaving the grounds were not worried with what they had witnessed anyway. We were reminded that they have never lost a county final and that record looks set to continue. The only positive was the outstanding performance of Matthew Carey. He is developing into a real leader. With Duggan gone it is very much advantage Dromard on Saturday. Got to admit the standard club football bar one-two games in knockout stages is awful in this county. I dont envy Frankie dolan. Would the Longford CB not push the county final back one week? Seems a bit unfair for whoever wins between Clonguish and Dromard to only have a week to prepare for a county final after what will probably be two tough games against each other. There could be a wedding, lads on holidays etc. for the following weekend, can't just expect lads to change their plans because of the other semi going to a replay. Or in 2013 when Slashers and Colmcille drew in the semi. Or in 2012 when Killoe and Dromard drew in the semi. Or any of the times before that when there was a draw at semi-final stage.
