I would have Cluxton and Canavan ahead of your own county men. Nothing against them…have are top top drawer players but the unfortunate reality is they never played in an all Ireland final. The top top players are judged on how they perform on the biggest day and final day is different. Not so sure about that logic. With the GAA being geographic, players can often find themselves playing for a county which has very little chance of ever reaching an All-Ireland final. That doesn't affect how good a footballer they might be. It might be a different sport, but I watched Conor McManus playing in the compromise rules a number of years ago. Probably one of the last years it was played. He was head and shoulders above our other forwards, and that forward line included Paul Geaney, from what I remember. One thing that showed that day, was how tough he was, as it was a very physical game and our forwards were getting a lot of treatment from the Aussies. He thrived in it and kicked some incredible scores. A lot of the rest of our lads struggled. For pure ability, I'd have in the team all day long. He was an exceptional forward.
