Kerry All Ireland Champions 2026?

Replying To Dmoa95:  "Not arguing that Louth cant beat Mayo i 100% think they can and possibly will. Dublin can also beat Mayo but Mayo can also beat Louth and Dublin ther eisnt much between these 3 teams.

Mayo have improved considerably since the Roscommon game, and you can't just reduce every result to "the other team left it behind them." By that logic you could say Tyrone left it behind them against Kerry, Armagh and Monaghan left it behind them against Louth, and Wicklow, Cavan, Donegal and Galway left it behind them against Dublin.

At some point you've got to give credit where it's due and judge teams on what they're actually producing over the past few weeks, not just what their opponents didn't do on the day."
Mayo have definitely improved and in Kobe, they have a future All Star / POTY. In fact, he is already a star player at just 18.

But Meath blew a 10pt lead and Cork kicked it away with 15 wides.

I was really impressed with the 14 men of Louth.
Now I get it that Mayo are better than Monaghan but there was just something about Louth last weekend. Very impressive.

Tbh it is great that either they or Mayo will get to an All Ireland Football Final, but personally I would love to see Louth get to it.
That said, imagine if Kobe was the spark that finally broke the Mayo hoodoo… that too would be great…
And a hell of a story…!

Louth are a fine team but write Mayo off at your peril. I think this build up suits us, all the focus and hype is elsewhere."
Schoolboy stuff, that's not fair, Tyrone are ahead of us because of a dodgy free. How many dodgy frees and Armagh men taking 2 pointers from the wrong position have went against Tyrone. I wouldn't care less if Tyrone were ranked 16 if they were in the semifinals.

Replying To Cabbagepatch1667:  "I don't think it's an unfair narrative to say Mayo are the worst of the 4 left. Kerry are clearly number 1, and there's not much between the other 3, a lot of the time it comes down to on the day.

Meath left an awful lot behind against Mayo and should have been out of sight at half time, Cork kicked an awful lot of wides against Mayo too, and Roscommon were easy enough winners over you. Louth will take confidence from that, there's very little between Meath, Louth and Cork, so you can stack that form against Mayo.

But Mayo do have a lot of star quality around the place, and maybe Louth won't be able to cope with you, but I think they'll win."
I wouldn't be surprised if Louth beat Mayo, and I wouldn't be surprised if Mayo beat Louth either. I don't see Mayo as the weakest of the four left and neither do the bookies. They're being underestimated by nearly everyone, and they look like a team finding form at the right time. They've tightened up defensively and have dangerous weapons all over the pitch.

"Roscommon were easy enough winners over you" - Dublin were comfortable winners over Louth, and Donegal were similarly comfortable winners over Kerry. If we're judging teams on their form earlier in the summer, there are examples everywhere of all four sides underperforming at different points. On current form, there isn't a major gap between Dublin, Louth and Mayo. Yet for some reason people keep going back to Mayo's poor day against Roscommon while overlooking the poor results the other three teams had.

You've kind of proved my point. Everyone is finding a reason why Mayo won their games….its the oppositions fault…the wides etc. even the narrative post Clones was if the game went on longer Monaghan would have won.

The sending off v Meath yes but everyone ignores Mayo had already dismantled the huge leads and were coming at Meath in waves.

Look I'm glad Mayo are being written off I'm just perplexed at the analysis of Mayo on nearly every podcast and forum out there.

If Mayo beat Louth, and tbh it is very close to call, do you think this current Mayo team/squad will beat this current Kerry team/squad in this year's All Ireland Final.?

I know all the usual yerra yerra it is all on the day stuff, but I will be shocked if they don't win 2 in a row.
Their squad is currently in their prime and at their peak.
And that is a massive factor.

Add to that the unfortunate All Ireland final baggage pressure that still weighs down Mayo. It cannot be ignored. But I do give Andy Moran a lot of credit for getting this far.

And who knows…?!
He could yet prove a hell of a lot of people wrong…!
