There's an old saying that "paper never refused ink" and it's very true. Those newspaper columns are just more examples of populism. Write that "all matches should be on free-to-air TV" and readers will think you're a great fella. Write that "all matches can't be on free-to-air TV because ....." and people will think you're an awful you-know-what. Am not sure you understand the mechanics of Local Authorities either. Just because one councillor of one party proposes a motion and others from other parties support it doesn't mean it's a national policy of any of those parties, or make it any more likely to happen. Look, I'd actually love to see every championship match on TV. But I'm realistic enough to understand why it can't happen. It's a pity certain others don't share those levels of realism. I know they cant all happen and I didnt expect them all to be free and I understand that but if allowed then RTE could cover far more games... Correct me if Im wrong but dont they send cameras to the vast majority of games anyway so that they have highlights to show on the Sunday game? I didnt say it was national policy i said one county council introduced an emergency motion on this and most others are expected to follow. I said FG were pushing it too but that does not mean its national policy. The people in media and papers calling for change are much different characters to those who were promoting the sky deal...These people have nothing to gain except a return to a fairer system. I wont mention what the sky promoters gained from that deal but it was fairly obvious it was in their own interest. I listened to the GAA podcast today and 2 more very high profile recently retired players have highlighted the unfairness of the condensed season.

people just want all the games available if you have to pay a annual subscription. instead of just 40 games which your team may not be involved in
