Replying To WanPintWin:  "Fouls on attacking players. The free Galway had last night was for a Roscommon player taking too long to take his own free. A two point free for that seems extremely harsh. Likewise for fouling the ball, such as over carrying, touching it on the ground etc."
Yes I don't think the Roscommon player fouled the ball. 7 seconds I counted from the moment the whistle was blown to then getting penalised.

A free outside the arc is a 2 pointer if scored.
You can't have different layers."
There's different layers of frees already, indirect frees for certain issues. It wouldn't be too hard to make fouling the ball offences one point frees only. Simple enough to apply.

Those technical fouls should be indirect free kicks.

Too complicated leading to more controversy.
Keep it simple. More problems for referee's and then more bashing of referee's on line by anonymous posters.

Congrats to Roscommon. It looked like it might slip away there but great finish and it showed great confidence in your system of play to get it over the line. Clearly great work being done with all the finals contested and won.

Fair play Roscommon. Neither team deserved to lose IMO but ye were more clincial when it mattered

You can't really be conceding a whopping 3-21 in a football match, and claiming that you didn't deserve to lose.

Well that's 24 scores and by coincidence Roscommon also conceded 24 scores. So like I said, Roscommon were more clinical when it mattered. You're talking as if we were terrible which was wasn't the case.

Magnificent game of ball. Galway superb and very close to doing a five in a row. Walsh was superb. Galway will go deep into this championship yet. Roscommon were finishing very strong which was testament to the S@C dept. Roscommon need to shore up at the back but for this evening it's a magnificent victory and can spur the lads to future success. We need to reach the last eight. Provincial winners should merit that at least.

Congratulations to all the Roscommon players and management.

Super stuff our fitness a telling difference as we finished a game very strongly once more. Bench impact probably to be expected given our strength in depth not just the 26 but the quality of players that aren't even getting on the 26.

Darragh Heneghan fully deserved his MOTM mad to think the previous management didn't think he was good enough. So many others that stood out today also, Senan Lambe for one outstanding.

To win Connacht Senior,U20,U17 is outstanding achievement and we also had Roscommon teams win the senior and Intermediate club Connacht titles last winter.

Lastly hard luck to Galway. You have been great Connacht champions 12 wins in a row in Connacht I believe and 4 in a row titles, best of luck to you in the All-Ireland series always has been a great respect between the two counties.
