Best of luck to St Marys in the Hogan cup final in Croke Park. Theyve brought a great buzz to the town and the county doing there school, clubs and County proud . Great bunch of lads and coaches . Lets hope they can finish the job and bring the Hogan cup back home to Mullingar

Of course our game is the one of primary importance, but if Sam Maguire is what we are aiming at-then the Louth, Kildare game IS significant as relegation for Kildare makes reaching Sam Maguire more difficult. But yes, that would be academic if we lost to Wexford. I think one has to keep an eye on those other results though, to get the full picture. Not so sure what was too strange about the comment.

which means only one team from Divison 3 would be the hunt for SAm"
Exactly

Wouldn't say there will be anyone down here checking that result unless we win Sunday.

Congratulations to Coláiste Mhuire. Thought they had thrown it away near end.

Many of them county minor?

Winning on Sunday will be a big ask. Wexford under the new rules have had a new lease of life . Wexford footballers don't have great support so I would hope that a good Westmeath support travels down . Just on a footnote congrats to tyrrellspass man dean Mc Nicholas and the colaiste mhuire boys on a historic victory . What an advertisement for gaelic football

Massive win for CBS. First thing I have to mention is the support they completely outnumbered the Kerry fans, easily 6 to 1, and it made a serious difference. Thank God we got the start we did, because in the second half we went about 17-18 minutes without a score, which nearly cost us. I couldn't understand why we didn't make a few changes around the 40-45 minute mark - the lads were clearly tiring and we had options on the bench to inject a bit of energy. Thankfully it didn't come back to bite us. From a CBS point of view, I thought Keating, Moloney and Higgins were outstanding. Higgins might not have got on the scoresheet, but his work rate and link-up play were class such an intelligent footballer. For Tralee, their number 8 and 14 were excellent serious footballers they've big futures ahead of them.

Yeah you're right, we don't support our footballers like we should.
To be honest I would make westmeath slight favourites.
You had a big score against Limerick last week and bagged 4 goals.
I think you have a good team and maybe it might be asking too much for our lads to win and gain promotion.
I wish your team well on Sunday.
I think it will be close. Home advantage will help but I fancy Westmeath to win by 3 points.
Hope I'm wrong though.

Fantastic win by CBS yesterday. The quality of the Football played was very impressive and worthy of being played at Croke Park. I was most impressed by how CBS moved the ball to players in better positions and how calculated risks were taken in attack, resulting in lots of scores (Goals) and a pulsating match to watch. Huge composure and maturity was shown to finish out the match against a worthy adversary in an all-Ireland final.

Great to see such fantastic support for the team in the stands, it certainly made a difference in a tight game

Well done Colaiste Mhuire. Game looked like was slipping away, Tralee corner backs had great second half. Well done to the lads for plugging away and what an inspirational score from Will Scahill to win it at the death. Well deserved. Now all we need is a senior win against Wexford to make it a great week!

Phenomenal achievement for Colaiste Mhuire - really did excellent.
One of the greatest wins in history of Westmeath GAA.
Would really love if this was catalyst for Westmeath to win Leinster's and All-Ireland's at underage and senior.
Wins in 95 and 99 really gave us belief for 04 and this could be similar all going to plan.

Congratulations Coláiste Mhuire. Great work being done by the Schools and Clubs. The future is bright for this talented group, not so much in a Westmeath jersey. All Westmeath players are hamstrung by inadequate facilities, being treated like second class citizens compared to other Counties, begging Clubs for pitches to train on, not knowing for definite where they will train next week. How are Westmeath players meant to train as hard as any other county without the proper structures and denial of basic needs? It should probably not come as a surprise that Westmeath teams from underage to Senior are struggling to make any kind of progress. Significant investment in facilities (a Centre of Excellence) is needed if the likes of the Coláiste Mhuire players are going to develop and reach their true potential as Westmeath Seniors. As long as the current regime is in power, we will continue to struggle and lag further behind the rest.

Haven't westmeath bought the land adjacent to St Lomans gaa to build their COE. You will get your chance to donate to it in the near future.

Clubs are trying to mind pitches for their own needs. Costs a lot of money to run and maintain a club. If you have U-8, U-10, U-12, U-14, U-16, minor, U-20 and possibly 2 senior teams or a senior and junior team training all week on a pitch at this time of year it takes its toll. Add 30 county players who will plough it out even more, you cannot blame clubs for being reluctant to hand over facilities. Why did the county board not look at Rochfortbridge years ago? Would have cost so much less to get a COE off the ground out there. The LGFA made a great move there and good luck to them.
