This confirms what i already knew, that most Mayo supporters are logical and understand football, but a significant minority ( one third) are clueless. Reasons for not wanting to be in a final...1)because everytime Mayo win a final they lose to Roscommon....pishrogs! 2) would interfere with training plan ...rubbish 3) dont want to show their hand...deluded. We know what Mayos hand is ...and to be fair its a bloody strong one this year. Playing in a league final in croker is a great opportunity for experience for many of the mayo players who have not played there too many times. So i say go for it and try bring a national title west and if ye dont win it, nothing lost."
Yes one poll on the Mayo GAA blog representation supporters. Most people I know (fellow Mayo fans) think that blog is full of crackpots. Does the Galway footballers Facebook page represent Galway fans? I hope not.

The galway facebook page is a slightly different animal and doesnt have any polls or debate on it as far as i believe. Hogan Stand forum is more similar to the blog comments, and yes we have our share of crackpots, im sure im accused of being one of them from time to time. To be fair i enjoy the mayo gaa blog , in general, it is fairly informative , and most of the commentary is knowledgable , as long as you filter out the "lol" brigade, whatever lol means , "little old lady"?

Why is it a bizarre poll? Literally every media outlet talks about whether or not a team wants a league final. We saw the respect jim McGuiness had for a league final last year with some of his team selections.

Personally I'd like Mayo to make a league final but that is not a universal opinion.

To be fair, I don't think it was a respect or lack of respect with Jim last year. It was about priorities. He had his focus on Derry just a week after the league final was played.

And it worked to Mayo's advantage. If we had won that final league game in Castlebar ye would be in Division 2 this year.

Mayo are in it to win it, especially now when they just need to win their next game to reach the final. Last year no comparison when Donegal played Derry in the Ulster Championship a week after the league final.
