Trump now confirming they need to take over Greenland. Big shout out to all the lads on here and in other places who said people need to chill and see what he does. Very quiet on here.

Americans have no business abducting Maduro, even if he is a drug dealing autocrat who lost the last legitimate election there.

Meanwhile, our own Taoiseach is off meeting the leader of the Chinese Communist Party which has blood of tens of millions of deaths on its hands. Begging for Investment Yuan,

People are always choosy about their outrage.

The EU will issue a strongly worded statement if that happens

Why is everyone on this thread being judged on being for or against Trump?
Is there no middle ground for "free-thinking" as lads call it here?
I've no idea how the Venezuela thing is going to go, but I'm not for that Maduro lad.
Yanks can elect their own.

No there's room for middle ground with some on here.

Maduro seems no loss given vote fiddling,I was confusing him with previous president Chavez.

This still doesn't give trump right to go in and takeover.

would trump not likely be peeing off putin with this move which they seem reluctant to do on other causes

Instability between India and Bangladesh now too so not much good going on at moment

I've made a new year resolution to ignore him and what he gets up to. He is what he is, the American people elected him so, he is their president. Saying anything derogatory about him just exercises his supporters - some of whom I'm convinced are AI plants or bots. Life is too short. Any way, best wishes to him, his supporters and his detractors.

You think meeting and trading with China is the same as America taking over Venezuela and potentially Greenland?

The way it is the USA seems to be so powerful it can do what it likes, if Trump wants Greenland he'll just take it, if he wanted our green island he could take that too, we depend so much on American multi nationals he might think instead of moving them home he might as well have a foothold in western Europe, they already use Shannon for their military anyway.

People need to focus more on the issues in our own country not the USA.

The beauty of free speech, freedom of expression and indeed freedom is that each individual can think about or express anything they wish - within guidelines, of course. If you want to concentrate on matters internal to Ireland - crack on. Other people take a more rounded view of world affairs and can get concerned at certain developments around the world. It seems to be becoming normalised for authoritarian leaders to feel they can grab whatever they want to - be that members of the opposite sex or a country or portion of. These actions will always provoke a response from people, either in favour of or against. It's the way of the world really.

No funnily enough this stuff doesnt matter to me and I dont waste a second worrying about it, we have some serious issues in this country that has nothing whatsoever to do with any of that carry on, yet the likes of you are easily blinded by all that guff.

Totally, how many Irish and Brit politicians have called USA out? Not many, they have too much too loose if they get on the wrong side of Trump.

I have 4 kids and run a business so spare me the nonsense about our own country. I am well aware. Feel free to post about it if you wish.
