Seriously? If HS closed for good it wouldn't affect my life. And you are worried that it's closing over Xmas. Might be time to assess your priorities .

Do you see a problem with not posting over Xmas.

It wouldn't bother me one bit either but on the other hand are we all going to pretend that it's taxing work? It wouldn't be kept open if it wasn't making a few pound in advertising... it definitely shouldn't be close for the entirety of Christmas that's for sure.

You've made it very clear nothing effects your life except US tech and pharma money.

Replying To zinny:  "For some reason my last reply didn't get through. I just wanted to set the record straight on the idea that the natural progression of the virus. Its a bit of a over simplification of how it works and I will give you the example why, the virus is at its peak transmission period in the 2-3days however a negative outcome for the host was around after two weeks, therefore the virus did not wait to see what the outcome would be before it was transmitted. To survive the virus became more transmissible and that was why omnicrom became the dominant strain as it out transmitted delta. There is nothing to say that it will not mutate again into something different, that is happening all the time and the more people that get infected by the virus the greater the chance of that happening. Also its not a 100 year thing and I think if you look back over the past 100 years you will find other examples of where the world had to deal with - one example that most wouldn't think of is HIV (the estimated deaths are 44million), Hong Kong Flu was a strain of Influenza A where the estimated deaths were between 1-4m. These virus arrive either passing from animals to humans and mutating or existing ones mutating but its an evolving process. What has changed in the last 100 years is how quickly they can spread around the world with air travel. Covid should have been a lesson in how the world we live can become a hostage to these pathogens and how better we can prepare for them in the future but after reading some of the views here of rational people it would seem the opposite in true."
How is hiv in any way comparable. Do you mean that was also a bioweapon? We're talking about the flu.

So you're not aware COVID 19 was a bioweapon then? The only question is whether or not the leak was intentional.

I know someone who was admin on a forum a good few years back, and he said the amount of nonsense posted on the few days around Christmas (when there was clearly alcohol involved), entertaining and all as it was, made it unfeasible to allow posts over the festive period. I'm sure many of us will see similar on WhatsApp groups etc over the coming days, so I understand why a forum would close.
