Just on this point, I wonder would it be beneficial nominating Gallen as the designated right-footed freetaker again? We've seen Gallen be quiet in games, then come alive in little bursts. But if he was kicking points regularly, would that give him the wee psychological boost that he needs? That he is the main man scoring wise... I suppose but when you have Murphy there to take them it's very hard to give those frees to someone else, I wonder will Jim give Murph the captains armband for next season? I'd love to see him give another All Ireland winning captains speech before he hangs up the intercounty boots. Oisin I know had injuries but every man gets knocks and niggles, he seemed to regress a bit when Michael came back. Hoping for a big year from us next season, we just need to go one step further to land Sam Maguire again Is féidir linn ! Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 3611 - 18/12/2025 12:08:56 2648760 Link 0 |

Definitely wouldn't have cian mcmenamin down as a inside forward, he's more one of those players who you could put anywhere in the middle 8 although definitely agree r.e the other 3 players and could probably also add jack gallagher from ballyshannon/ paddy mcelwee from downings to that list.

Saw a Meath lad mention a 3-15 to 2-18 draw between ourselves and Meath in Convoy, anyone have any details? NPadraigAbu (Donegal) - Posts: 111 - 21/12/2025 19:45:19 2649125 Link 0 |

Yes heard it was a hard hitting encounter with Cian McBride who played club football in Donegal in the thick of things. winatallcost (Meath) - Posts: 879 - 21/12/2025 22:27:00 2649143 Link 0 |

Donegal played Leitrim in a very competitive game last week I hear. Big Hughie, Eoin Ban and Ciaran Moore all played well. Great to see Hugh back for another year. A great leader. PeterQ92 (Donegal) - Posts: 177 - 22/12/2025 12:57:35 2649183 Link 0 |

I see Mayo are releasing a commemorative jersey to honour their last All Ireland win - 75 years ago. Not that's a proper LOL and a bit tragic as well.

Did you not consider Leitrim v Mayo competitive in Connaught championship this year? Think it was fairly nip and tuck until last 10 minutes. Leitrim were even at a lower ebb at the time having failed to field in a match earlier in the year. I guess Mayo were no great shakes this year but don't expect that to change overnight!

I expect a lot of teams to make a huge improvement in 2026, the likes of Tyrone, Galway, Mayo, Monaghan and Meath are likely to show major improvements. Dublin are a team who i think are capable of much more in 2026.

If what your saying is true then you consider Monaghan and Meath as provincial and All-Ireland contenders as they were not that far off this year. Both will do well to maintain their level and add to it. Expectations have increased for both of them but there is no reason to rule out either to be as good as the rest just behind the likes of Kerry and perhaps Donegal. People assuming Mayo and Dublin will be well ahead of them may need to think again.
