No county has more medals for getting ahead of themselves than the Mayo for Sam boys in which there was a lifetime achievement award in 2021. Even with the senior team being off it at the moment but not to fall back in the hype stakes, Kobe McDonnell is now the GOAT despite him having not even made a senior appearance.

We just support our county literally the same as every other county sure. Well kobe is gone to Aussie land and we are concentrating on our own young talent coming up that are still here like Darragh Beirne and others who are up and coming young stars.

Replying To The_analyser:  "How do posters see the three semi-finals going this weekend with the three Roscommon reps involved?  For me

Brigid's v Ballina

I think Ballina will come with a plan to make it a dog fight of a game, strong set of officials will be required which wasn't there when these two sides met in 2007.

Ballina are decent in midfield and lots of pace in their half back line including Callinan and curb his influence on the game and you go along way to beating them.

The Bookies and punters will probably be right with Brigid's to win by 2 or 3 points

Strokestown v Allen Gaels

A high scoring Leitrim outfit that includes former Roscommon county player Kieran Kilcline are not to be underestimated. They are also strong in midfield an area Strokestown was poor in the county final,  Strokestown know how and experience should allow them to win by 4 or 5 points

St Croans v Kiltimagh

Mayo champions are generally strong at Junior level. Croans will need an improvement on their quarter final display and injuries to first choice players probably won't help their cause here, hope I'm wrong but I'm thinking Kiltimagh to win by 2 points"
Yea think they will target Brigids main men and try and disrupt their game. Brigids dealt well with the arm wrestle against Clann but Ballina are a better outfit. Brigids have the quality to win by a narrow 2 point margin but wouldn't be a bit surprised if this goes to extra time or if Ballina pip it.

I agree with your other predications, I think it might be a bit closer between Strokestown and Allen Gaels but Strokestown who were playing in senior Connacht club only 3 years ago should have enough experience to get them past a potential banana skin.

As you say Mayo teams have a great record in Connacht at junior level while Roscommon clubs have a fairly dire record. Kiltimagh will be too much for Croans I fear.

Best wishes to Niall Daly on his retirement a great servant for his county a true soldier on the field.

One of my lasting memories of him in a Roscommon jersey will be that brillant block to deny Andy Moran and from that block the the winning score was supplied by Fintan Cregg to get our first championship win in Machale park for 30 plus years.

What a great player. Absolute class from
An early age. Some leader and scored outrageous points over the years. Always laughed how you had to mark
Him and he was usually coming up from the half backs. Best of luck to him.

Bookies and punters thought Strokestown would win by 4 or 5 points and they ended up winning by 6 against a very game Allen Gaels outfit.

Strokestown always looked in control and never looked like losing once they led at half time against the wind. Step up in quality against Kilmeena in Castlebar next Sunday though should give it a good rattle. McGann,Colm Neary good today and a nice cameo from county minor from a few years ago Sean McDonnell.

A big thanks to Niall Daly for the service he gave to the county. Gave us badly needed steel and aggression but also a very good footballer and leader.

Dominant display by Brigids In truth a contest should have been over at half time instead of the 8 point lead they had. Only black mark was the three sloppy goals given away and I don't think that 2nd goal should have been allowed. Expected a lot more from Ballina their game plan and match ups was poor. R fallon,P McGrath,C Hand among the stand out players on show. Moycullen v Brigids should be a real battle in the Hyde in two weeks.

Lastly hard luck to Croans losing out on a Connacht junior final with a penalty shootout. Strength of Roscommon club has been seen in the three club championships once more.

Surprising how bad Ballina were for a team on their third year in row outing in Connacht. Was listening to the game while watching Ireland but sounded like Brigids very dominant in the middle and kicked a lot of first half wides. The worry for them is giving up multiple goal chances in the past two games. If Pearses had taken theirs we'd have different county champions. I suppose a good way to be, a dominant performance and yet still room for improvement.

Brigid's v Ballina was like a middle weight fighter taking on a heavy weight. The Connacht final in the hyde park will be a true heavyweight bout and winner will fancy their chances of going on to win the All-Ireland title in January.

It was no surprise to anyone in Mayo. They should have been beaten by Westport well but for a collapse and a master class from regan . Their championship has been poor for four years. Mayo people openly say this.

Brigids are playing some very attacking football albeit slightly open at the back. However with 10/11 of them in the county panel I think it's a template we should use. Playing like last year under Davy with slow , over coached plays a bit like Ballina today doesn't suit our players. We need to play on the front foot and obviously Brigids are well coached so should be an easy transition when they join up

Congrats to Brigids and Strokestown and hard luck Croans.
Only for leaking goals it would have been an embarrassing scoreline for Ballina.
Should be a great senior Final between two very good teams on a brilliant pitch.
