Trying to be as careful as possible not to come across as a sore winners, but I wouldn't say any of those players would make the Kerry or Donegal XV on current form, never mind the All Star team.

Donegal have won as many championship matches this SEASON as Meath have since the start of 2021.

That being said, I believe it's only a matter of time before Meath or Louth reach an All-Ireland final again.

I am a Louth man and Sam Mulroy doesn't deserve one. Ryan Burns best Louth player this year and should have got man of the match in the leinster final

After today Rafferty possibly Meaths best chance of an all-star. Yes Costello had a good year but today not at his best like many others for Meath. Morris had one stand-out performance against Galway but Kinsella, Costello and Caulfield had performed to a higher standard than Morris.
Each of these will probably get nominated but Rafferty the most likely.

All Ireland winners will get 6, runners up 4/5. Meath/Tyrone 1 each, maybe 2 for one of them. Louth will get a token All Star, then Armagh, Monaghan, Dublin and Galway will fight over the rest

Young Finbarr Roarty has to be in for an all star.

Costello was also poor today, but very few Meath players could say they played well today. I think Meath will get one all-star on account of having reached the semi-final. It'll probably be Costello. I'd say Mulroy will also get one. Outside of Donegal and Kerry players , I'd have Morgan in goal, and I think Oisín Conaty and Conor McCarthy will pick up awards too.

Maybe Langan into midfield to free up another place for O Donnell.

If one of the full forwards go gang busters in final, take Morris spot. He was very quiet today."
Morris is a talent but I'd have Pat Haveran there before him for this year's championship contribution. The Galway game has given him a recency bias.

Probably looking at up to 12 All Stars to be shared among Kerry and Donegal now, by the distance the two stand out teams this year with the most consistent players.

He's a class player beg Mulroy is not getting an all star. He was anonymous in their KO game vs Donegal.
The bulk of the all stars is going to be taken up by Donegal.

I would agree Hugh has had a great year. However Langan has been magnificent in the last 2 matches and is guaranteed an All Star.

Langan is potentially a FOTY contender, as are 6 others across Donegal and Kerry teams, but he's playing at half forward.

Midfield has been a key area throughout championship, and Donegal have been heavily reliant on that strong base to get them through 10 matches so far. Can't count how many times I've heard this season that Donegal's opponents have the edge in midfield, but each time McFadden has not only levelled the playing field, but turned opponent's kick outs into a regular platform of attack. He really turned the screw when Menton came off yesterday.

Maybe the All Stars teams should be better split out as Keeper, Backs, Fielders, and Forwards, because what's the point of having two midfielders in a Team of the Year if we are avoiding picking midfielders in favour of more half forwards.

Celtic cross medal > All Star award

The All Star awards will take care of themselves once the dust settles. One more massive push needed!

Rafferty and Keoghan is a possibility for one also.
Would love to see Keoghan get one tbh.
He is some player, and should be Meath captain imo.

Rafferty is good. But consistently over the championship, Brendan McCole has been way better. Donegal full forward line scored the following against Meath

Conor O'Donnell 1-3, Michael Murphy 0-6 (1 2ptf, 1f), Oisín Gallen 1-2, Paddy McBrearty sub - 0-3

That's 2-14 and would have beaten Meath on its own.

McFadden has been very good but Joe OConnor and Langan I'd say are nailed on barring McFadden getting MOTM in the all Ireland.

Other certainties at this stage I would say are Clifford, Ciaran Moore, Roarty and probably Sean O Shea and Michael Murphy.
So much of it depends on the All Ireland final.

There will probably be a few spread out among the likes of Morris, Mulroy, McGeary, Beggan but Kerry and Donegal have both been so impressive in Croke park, I can't see too many outside them.

Langan nailed-on for sure, but as a half forward which is what he is.

Keeper:
Beggan/Morgan frontrunners but a top display in final could win it for either Ryan or Patton.

Full back line:
McCole the only certainty. Full back line likely to be 2 winners and 1 runner-up. Roarty a shoe-in for YPOTY however. Unlikely to look past two from Foley, Casey, Roarty, Mogan.

Half back:
Brian Ó Beaglaoich and Ciaran Moore certainties. One other from champion, likeliest candidates White, McHugh, Mogan, Roarty. (Mogan Roarty might get half back instead of full back)

Midfield:
Joe O'Connor and Hugh McFadden certs. Key battle in the final.

Half-Forward:
Langan, Sean O Shea certs. One other from Champions.

Full Forward:
Clifford, Murphy certs. One other from Mulroy, or top display in final from champions, i.e. Paudie, Gallen, Conor O'Donnell.

Champions: 7/8/9
Runners-up: 5/6
Others: 0/1/2

In the normal way of the all stars, your playing yourself off the team from semis onwards.

Padraig Hampsey, Brian Kennedy and the entire Meath team played themselves off the Allstar team at the weekend.

Whoever gets to mark David Clifford is in an all or nothing situation. Keep him under 4 points from play - All star in the bag let him score a goal or couple of 2 pointers - All star gone.

Of the Tyrone lads who played last weekend - their allstars will come from Niall Morgan, Kieran McGeary, Conn Kilpatrick and Darragh Canavan

To revise the likely list now

GK - Morgan/Beggan
FB - Foley, Murphy/Roarty, Mogan/McCole
CB - White, McGeary. Gallagher
MF - Kilpatrick, Langan/O Connor
CF - SOS, PClifford/O Donnell/Moore/Thompson,
FF - D Clifford, Murphy, Canavan/O Gallen

Likely
3 Tyrone, 5-7 Kerry, 5-7 Donegal

From a Meath perspective the only genuine one is Donal Keoghan. He was consistently 7/10 in every game he played.

Rafferty had a poor Leinster final and struggled at times yesterday.

Menton would have been in with a good shout if he had not gone off injured.

Costello, Morris, Frayne and Kinsella all blew hot and cold over the championship and besides Frayne none of them had decent semi final.

Hopefully DK gets one.

There is lots of time for Rafferty to get one. ;o)
